Welcome to our mission in Dade County, Georgia, situated in the northwest corner of the state. Unfortunately, we're grappling with a significant challenge. The absence of vital animal welfare infrastructure, including animal control, animal shelter, and basic leash laws and other ordinances that protect pets. Law enforcement's response to distressed calls involving dogs often takes a disheartening turn with suggestions like, "if it's bothering you, just shoot it." This distressing advice has unfortunately led to dogs being subjected to harm time and time again.

The absence of leash laws has given rise to a troubling scenario where cats and dogs reproduce without restraint, resulting in thousands of unwanted animals each year. There has been a surge of vehicular accidents, disappearances, and overall suffering. The lack of microchipping and identification on collars  further complicates matters. Out of hundreds of lost dogs I have never found a dog with identification or a microchip.

This challenging situation is exacerbated by uninformed and irresponsible pet ownership practices, coupled with a lack of effective local governance. In response, I've unintentionally taken on the responsibility of advocating for transformative change within our county, becoming a determined voice for animals suffering across our community.

Acknowledging the enormity of the task, it's clear that individual efforts won't suffice. Therefore, I actively seek partnerships to facilitate the transportation of dogs to northern rescues, dedicated volunteers to share the workload, compassionate fosters to provide temporary refuge, and generous donors to sustain our crucial operation.

Join us in this endeavor, as we work together to bring about meaningful change and provide a brighter future for the innocent lives caught in the midst of this pressing challenge.
